Legal Question in Family Law in California
I am divorcing and need to subpeona the following from my soon to be ex wife: 1) All bank records attached to her social security number, 2) my sons W2's for the last 4 years of their acting and modeling work ( the management company refuses to provide this to me) and 3) their respective bank accounts(which their mother has sole control of). Should I have an attorney do this instead of doing it myself? If it's better to use an attorney, how much would this cost?.

Contact the Family Law Facilitator and find out what the process is for issuing subpoenas in your county.
If you and your wife are parties to the dissolution action, and she has the records, you do not subpoena them. Subpoenas are for third parties who are not parties to the action. You simply serve her with a demand for inspection and copying of the documents that are in her possession.
