Legal Question in Family Law in California

Divorse

I need to leave my husband due to his drinking and verbal abuse. Will he have grounds to get all assets by claiming that I abandoned the family. I am also an Alcoholic and sober.

In California divorce is no fault. That is the court does not want to know the specifics of why your marriage broke up. Only that there are irreconcilable differences. The only time his use of alcohol will be considered is in the determination of child custody and visitation.
