Legal Question in Family Law in California

Domestic Abuse, Abandonment!!

One day in April my husband left and never came back. One week later I received a notice to pay or quit and the amount owed was two months plus legal fees .

The apartment was in my name but my husband paid the rent from his company. I received an eviction because I was a stay at home wife and didn't have any money.

My husband has been arrested several times for drugs, domestic violence and also harming our children.

I went to the company owned by him(us) and it is closed down. He is living well at his brothers in Alta Loma because I went their and seen him run inside. His brother came out and told me that in their country the wife gets nothing(Pakistan) so I had a choice to leave the kids so they could grow up Muslim or just leave and that the business was his now.

He said if I get a lawyer he will just say he does not know where he is.

So my question is what do I do?? I don't get child support, I haven't talk to him since he left, all of his debt plus 150,000 in taxes has showed up on my bureau and the IRS is deducting my paycheck. I can't get a place because of the eviction and he transferred the business so I get nothing. I don't even have money for a lawyer or know where to start when they are just hiding him.

Re: Domestic Abuse, Abandonment!!

Contact the local department of child support services. Then contact the IRS and discuss the possibility of avoiding the tax liability as the innocent spouse.

You have alot going on here. I understand that you dont have the money for an attorney, but you really need to get legal help quick. You might want to try the Legal Aid offices in the county in which you live. To get free legal help you need to qualify financially before they will accept your case.

Good Luck!
