Legal Question in Family Law in California

Domestic Violence with Bodily Injury

If a restraining order is filed against the abuser, can I rest assured he will never be able to obtain a permit to carry a weapon, even if he doesn't plead guilty to domestic assult? Or is a guilty verdict the only way to prevent him from obtaining a weapon permit? I am very afraid he will go free and buy a weapon to kill me. Please help me.

file the order with both the police dept in the city he lives in and the county sheriff. that will stop him from getting a permit.
