Legal Question in Family Law in California

Domestic Violence/Harassment??

Approximately 9 months ago I was involved in a relationship with someone that was separated. He and his wife reconciled. Since that time his wife has sent numerous harassing email. Recently she has set up a website for herself utilizing a screen name that I had while I was residing with him. She has created a "guest book" and has made reference to myself in the guest book. He has sent death threats via email which have been reported to my local police department, no action was taken. Anything that I can do about these incidents?

Re: Domestic Violence/Harassment??

You may be able to file a restraining order for civil harassment & get a civil restraining order. You may also wish to contact the police. You could file a case for slander/libel, but those are tough to prove & sometimes establishing damages is difficult. Good luck--what an icky situation! Would it be worth contacting your ex and asking (nicely, politely, no threats or angry words) to have him ask her to stop, and put it all behind you?
