Legal Question in Family Law in California
drug addict mom
Why does the court always claim
that is for the best interest of the
child to see the mother?
The mother is addicted to crystal
meth. Has recently been tested
positive for the drug. It is highly
addictive. The mother has supervised
visitation and the judge wants her to
be able to have unsupervised visits.
The mother also drives around high
on the drug during visits, for she
can't get off the stuff. I feel that that
if my daughter continues down this
path, she too will become like her
mother. In this case along with
many others, the best interest for
the child would be to not be around
the mother at all. She will never get
off the drug on her own, without
help. Nobodoy does. After a lot of
research I have discovered that the
people who admit they have a
problem, go to rehab, get off the
drug... there is a 95.6% turn around
rate & they are right back on the
drug again.
How can I put an end to this
miserable system?
I am certain that if the roles were
reversed, I would never be able to
see my daughter again.
I (like many other males in the
system) am being disciminated
against, because I am the male.

Re: drug addict mom
I don't know if you are being discriminated against because you are a male. Some judges have a tendency of bending over backwards to see the child has a relationship with both parents. I would suggest that you talk to a custody attorney in your county to see if there are additional safeguards for the child. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
