if i have a drug non violent possession charge can i adopt or get custody of my granddaughter

It depends on the decision and discretion of the court. A lot of people ask these questions, but there is no one real disqualifier. The court would look at the nature of the charge, and the amount of time since you were convicted. If this was something recent, the decision would probably be against you. If it was a long time ago, and was a youthful indiscretion, then you probably have a better chance than you think. The court tries to make a decision in the best interest of the child.
