Legal Question in Family Law in California

easy divorce

My husband and I married in 1984 and lived together for 13 years. We have been estranged since 1997, living apart (separate states) and have no financial or children connections. What is needed to have this as a legal divorce?

Re: easy divorce

Each of you should consult with an attorney in your respective states and determine in which state a divorce is most easily and quickly obtained. In California divorce is no fault. That is the court does not inquire beyond a statement that there are irreconcilable difference. However, the divorce cannot be granted sooner than 6 months after the other party has been served.
