Legal Question in Family Law in California
I am and educated person who left her country and financial security to come to the states and live happily ever after with a man who now she finds out-tricked her into singing something called -quit deed claim-on the pretext I had to come asap or else we would lose the house and the paper must have been stuffed somewhere in the middle as I signed all the papers having being told they were escrow papers-but I was not told there was this deed in there -it was not prepared in front of me or with my knowledge-no one informed me-or wanted me-not even the escrow lady or his friend-now sadly we are getting divorced and going to court-painfully I find out this happened and at a time when we were supposed to be in love-so was he planning divorce all along? at the start of our marriage? and why not tell me ? MY QUESITON IS -WILL MY HONESTY BE PRROF ENOUGH TO OVER TURN THE SIGNED DEED-I WAS NOT EVEN AWARE WHAT IT MEANT!

I would have an attorney review this. The quit claim deed only took your name off the title but does not invalidate any claim to community property claims. Even if it became his property somehow the community is entitled to reimbursement for any community fund expended on it...My suggestion is to get a family law attorney to work through the property issues.
