elderly parent with schizophrenia

I found my schizophrenic father after 20 years, brought him back to California. so far he is getting alon g fine as long as he takes his medication; any legal advice regarding guardianship, last will(he has a savings).

he should probably consider getting an estate plan, complete with powers of attorney for property management and medical.
