how do you get emancipated in California with parents with ssi?

Whether parents are on ssi or not is not the issue. Ordinarily one becomes emancipated when one turns 18, the age of majority. To get emancipated earlier, you need a judicial finding...a judge. The judge would consider all factors relating to you and your ability to be truly emancipated. This means you would have the privileges of an adult with also many of the liabilities. The simple way to become emancipated is marry an adult.
