Legal Question in Family Law in California

ending spousal support in california

I am nearing the end of my obligation to pay spousal support by about 1 1/2 months. The court has a earnings assignment order (fl-435) which was sent to my employer so payroll deduction is how they are getting 2/3 of the support. I am paying the other 1/3 on a monthly basis. The FL-435 doesn't stipulate an end date or amount total for the support. This is in a seperate court document. How would I go about stopping the payroll deductions without overpaying my ex-spouse?
