Who gets the engagement ring if engagement terminated?

My ex girlfriend and I are having a dispute. She has an engagement ring that she has had for two days before our engagement was mutually terminated, in which I paid for. Our question is who has the right to the ring?

I believe you are. it ws a conditional gift, made in contemplation of marriage.
