What would be the positives and negatives of assigning your minor child as a benificiary to the life insurance policy of a single parent.

To get a good answer you need to consult with an attorney. The positive would be that the insurance precedes are received by your son. However, the negative is if he is young he may squander the money and not receive the benefit that you had in mind. An Insurance trust may be a better choice. You will be in a better position to make that decision after talking with an attorney.
