Legal Question in Family Law in California

My ex-boyfriend and I have five children together, he hurt me and i filed a domestic violence charge, he took all my children and will not let me take them back to my home state. can i take my children without going to court?

Notify the police and file a report. Seek emergency orders for the children to be returned to you.
