Legal Question in Family Law in California
I have an executed judgment attached to my divorce judgment through Superior Court of Orange County California. The debtor will not pay and has moved to Tennessee. I know where they work and where they live. How do I go about getting wage garnishment when they are in another state?

Getting a wage assignment in a different state is somewhat complex. You will need to file a local action and pay the filing fee in that state and then file the appropriate paperwork in TN for a wage assignment. You might need to file a motion for a court order to issue one if that is the appropriate protocol there. You would also need to domesticate your orders from CA.
For self represented individuals you can consult with the family law facilitator self help center at your local court house.
As always please consult a local attorney prior to taking legal action. Good luck. Also please check out my Santa Clara County Family Lawyer blog.
