Legal Question in Family Law in California
ex-girlfriend and her ex-husband are harassing me
I have custody of my daughters, she gave them to me in 1994. The state has been after her for support, she had a hearing 1-7-99. Well on Monday 1-4-99 she had her ex-husband call my friend at home and say he was an attorney giving his own name as the attorney and saying he was filing a class action suit against me and the association were we reside. He left this message on the ansering machine. He called my brother-in-law and sister, and told them that they wanted his payroll records. That we can do it the hard way or the easy way. She had left messages on their answering machine, saying she was taking the girls away from their "F" in brother-in-law, and so on. I am tired of this hassrassment from her and him. Is there anything I can do?

First determine whetther this man is an attorney. If he is not an attorney report him to the district attorney's office or the local police agency. He is practicing law, and it is a crime to do so without a license.
Second you should get a restraining order against the ex. If this does not stop the harrassament from the alleged attorney your brother in law should get a restraining order against him.
Tell your family and friends to hang up if he calls and makes demands again. If you retain an attorney then all contact could be through the attorney.
