how can i get my ex-husband who has 50% custody of our daughte,r drug tested without having to go back to court?

You will need the court to issue an order that your ex is to be drug tested. The process is relatively simple, but you won't be able to avoid using the court. You can get help at your local court. Based on your zip code, the nearest court would be in Van Nuys. Of course, you can have an attorney represent you for the matter.
There are plenty of places that will do drug testing without a court order, just like a person can enroll in parenting classes, or go to an anger management therapist. The problem is there is no way to force someone to do any of those things without a court order. So unless he voluntarily agrees to go get tested, Mr. Saltzman is entirely correct that you must go to court.
