Legal Question in Family Law in California

exhusband is now a felon

I am a single mom of 2 kids. Ex husband has an order to pay 1117 p/m and owes over 15k now. He has limited visitation as we live in separate counties, 450 miles apart (still in CA). He is now a felon and is taking me back to court to obtain more time with the kids. My question is this: if I knowingly let the children go with him, a known felon on searchable probation, aren't I responsible if something happens to them while they're in his care? He was arrested on burglary and possession of stolen property charges. Thank you!

You should file for full custody of your children and change the visitation rights severely. A felon with a criminal record may be a danger to the safety of your children. An attorney can help you with that.

good luck.
