Legal Question in Family Law in California
Can my ex-husband file now to get back child support for my daughter even though there was never an order for it? She is 15 and we have joint custody, he is the primary and there was never child support or alimony. Both were declined.

I'm not clear whether you mean there was an order for $0/no support, or if there just was never any order about support of any kind. If there has never been an order for child support, he can seek up to three years back support. If there was an order for $0 support, he can only seek support from the day he files for modification of that order. Until the child turns 18 support can be requested at any time, and modified any time there is a material change in circumstances.
