Legal Question in Family Law in California

Ex-husband legal obligation

I divorced my first husband February 1991. In the divorce papers it was ordered that he purchase an automobile and pay for all attorney fees. He did not do either. I am wondering what my next step would be. Do I have any recourse? I feel certain that it is not too late to pursue this matter. Any help that you can give me would be very much appreciated.

Re: Ex-husband legal obligation

By law when you remarry the obligation of your former husband to pay alimony or spousal support ceases. An annulment of marriage is the same as if the marriage never occurred. You need to contact a family law attorney and provide copies of the order for him to pay support etc. I have never seen this problem and would have to research it to give you a fuller answer.
