Legal Question in Family Law in California

Hi,

I have to have my soon to be ex-husband served with a DVPO (DV-110) and I wanted to know if I can have it served vis his lawyer either by fax or walking it into his lawyers office. If I send it by fax what steps do I need to take in order for it to be done properly as well as if I walk it into his lawyers office. Thank you.

The form has to be served on him personally. Keep a copy with you and if he comes near you call the police and ask them to serve him. Until he is served with a copy of the TRO he cannot be charged with violating it. The domestic violence restraining order has severe penalties, to protect his rights he must be personally served.
