While Mr. McCormick is correct this section have several aspects in its application, the section states that offers to compromise cannot be introduced as evidence of the amount of damages. The purpose of the section is to encourage settlement discussions. There are some exceptions to this rule. In family law it would probably be used to encourage settlement discussions. The circumstances of your case may invoke one of the exceptions.
