Legal Question in Family Law in California

Extent of CLETS Restraining Order

My ex-wife filed a CLETS restraining order against me about 2 years ago. Now, we're going for counseling. The counselor has asked us to get together on a regular basis with our two boys to help smooth out the bumps in our raising of them. My question: Can I legally get together with her to do this? I don't feel comfortable about this at all.

Re: Extent of CLETS Restraining Order

The answer depends upon the terms of the clets order. Unless it allows you to have contact with her regarding the children, you cannot be with her. You should insist that the restraining order be modified to allow the two of you to be together when requested by the counsleor.
