Legal Question in Family Law in California

is this extortion,bribery,blackmail?

husband (sep.for 13years now) has recently called my parents claiming he had to cover a drug debt and that i along with a man got and used credit cards in his name All of which has no validity whatsoever and in order for him to go on with his life he is asing them for 5,000.00. he assured them that he wouldnt come down here to opur house and cause any problems he just wants thje 5,000.00. Is he breaing the law at all?

I sounds like a scam. You should consider notifying the police. It may even be necessary to obtain a restraining order against him.
