Legal Question in Family Law in California

My Ex-Wife has remarried....How do I stop the alimony?

My ex has remarried and I need to find out how I can stop the alimony payments. Will this require legal counsel or is it just a matter of filing a form with the court? How long will this process take?

You could try and get her to sign a stipulation for an order terminating the support. If she refuses to sign, you could file a motion seeking to have the support ended. If you are forced to file a motion, the court might award you your attorney's fees because of her refusal to cooperate.

Mr. Gurley is correct, if you cannot get a stipulation signed or you require assistance drafting a document that the court will accept, or if you require an OSC because of uncooperation, you would be well served by obtaining representation. Fees should be minimal ($ 500.00). If you are in Southern California, you may contact me directly at (619) 222-3504.
