Legal Question in Family Law in California

Facing the divorce, have the money in my personal bank account sent to me from overseas for medical needs... I just got an answer (courtesy Mr. Timothy McCormick) that this is "a gift" and thus I can't loose it in a divorce. But can the fact that I have that money in my bank account influence the spousal support amount? I am not working for the past year (health related), no kids, and my husband is a primary bread winner. Thnx in advance!

Unless it is a very large amount of money, and I mean VERY large as in you could live off the interest large, it will have no bearing on support. Support is almost exclusively based on actual income, length of marriage, and sometimes ablity to earn if one or the other spouse is voluntarily not earning as much as they could.
