Legal Question in Family Law in California

Failure to pay spousl support

What happens to me if I stop paying my spousal support? I live in Nevada now and the original MSA and one modified judgement were issued in California.

Re: Failure to pay spousl support

The spousal support would continue to accrue. She could go to court and if you don't file a response, she could get a bench warrant. The bench warrant is only good in California but this means you could get arrested whenever you are in California.

She could also get the order localized in Nevada, which takes a little over 30 days and then she can try to get contempt here in Nevada or she can do a wage garnishment or bank attachment.
