Legal Question in Family Law in California
False Allegations of Abuse
My sister made false allegations of abuse against the gentleman that I live with regarding her nine year old daughter. The alleged abuse was to have happened during a visit to Arizona just before Christmas. My sister lives in CA and filed the allegations with LA County CPS. Fortunately my neice was interviewed and examined and the allegations were unfounded. We would not even have known the allegations had been made if my former brother-inlaw had not called me after he received a call from CPS.
Is the accused allowed to request a copy of the allegations? Should CPS have informed us of the investigation? Since we are in AZ should we seek legal counsel here?
