False Domestic Violence allegations-loosing all rights

A friend is awaiting trial for false allegation of domestic violence by wife, divorce trial pending.Does he have any rights? His 1st ex-wife continually harrases him, tonight she called the police to notify them he was violating the restraining order, which was false, but in the mean time he was arrested, not charged, but questioned for almost 2 hours and was treated as if he had broke the law. How can he protect himself from being harrased? By both the police and others.
