Legal Question in Family Law in California
Family court drug testing said I came up positive for amphetamines. I have not done any illegal drugs and told them this. They said they would have a confirmation test done. Weeks later they say there was not enough sample left to test again. So the judge says he is making it a presumptive dirty methamphetamines test. Can they do this ? This is not making any sense to me how they can turn amphetamines into methamphetamines. They said when they were going to do the confirm test that numerous over the counter meds could give me a dirty amphetamines result. I know I did not take anything illegal so can they do this?

I am assuming the testing has to do with custody and parenting issues. The court has the duty to protect the well being of a child. If there is a concern of drug use, testing can be ordered. If the test is giving a mixed or unclear reading, the best choice is to hire your own toxicologist to test it and provide a report to contradict the earlier test.
