Re: Family

A conflict of interest only arises where a lawyer takes representation against a prior client and that prior representation gave the lawyer information that might be used against the prior client. As a matter of practice, most lawyers won't take a case against any prior client. The conflict does not extend to the prior client's relatives, although if there is the issue of information that the attorney has learned in the prior representation that could be used against your sister, you could try to bring a Motion to Disqualify the attorney.
