Legal Question in Family Law in California

family

i'm 16 and i hade a question. my parents seperated about eight months ago. i have not finished my school yet so i wanted to go to texas and stay with my mom for a while until i finished my school. my father and i have been having huge problems since she left. he kicked me out and i was staying at my aunts for seven months and now i'm bak at his house. i have a plane ticket to texas for the 18th of august but he has threatned to call the cops if i go. so i dont't know what to do. i havent seen my mom in eight months and i really want to see her. please help me and tell me if he can do that to me?

Your mother will need to file a motion to obtain custody of you. Based on the facts that you have given, it will almost certainly be successful. Unfortunately, until you are 18 you will need to depend on them to file the appropriate motions. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
