Legal Question in Family Law in California

I have a family law court date to Modify Child support set for 7JAN, but I will be on official military duty at that time on Orders. Can I request for some sort of extention?

Yes, but you have to contact the court immediately! I have seen extensions created for due cause

It is your right under the Servicemember's Civil Relief Act to request a stay of proceedings as you will be on active military duty. If you have not already, speak to your JAG corp as soon as possible. They should be familiar with what is necessary to file with the court.
