Legal Question in Family Law in California

Family Law

If there is a court order that I am only to have supervised visits with my children and the father has custody but then decides to agree to let me see the children without supervised visits and wants me to keep them overnight or for a week or two will that in anyway put me in jepordy with the law if we both agree to it? Should I get this agreement in writting? What should I do?
