Legal Question in Family Law in California

family law

I have a friend in california who went to child service today and they told her since her ex husband does not work and she is a teacher and makes decent money she will have to give him $300 a month. I guess this is to support him while he has the kids every other week. Does this seem right? the lady at child service told her she understands the law is crumy but the only thing she can think of is to file an extension to buy time and so she can get an attorney please give me some insight on all this that makes no sense.

Re: family law

an attorney can alway shelp you find creative ways to solve your case. in this case it is true that the other party without a job would probably receive some support, however this is not permanent. the other party sould seek a work order to find a job and hopfully the support order will change.

As always please consult an san jose family lawyer attorney prior to taking any legal action. Good luck.
