Legal Question in Family Law in California
Family Law - Harassing E-Mails
Do I have any legal recourse for an ex-husband and his current wife who continually harass me by turning everything I say around implying I'm a bad mother, trying to dictate what I should or shouldn't do, taking every opportunity to cause me emotional stress, threatening to force to get the court involved for continued and unwanted harassment when I've done absolutely nothing wrong. My only communication with my ex-husband is by e-mail when it pertains to the children. My ex-husband and wife continually harass me, make degrading remarks, accusations and false statements according to their own twisted minds not to mention that the step-mother oversteps her bounds and totally disrepects me. I have already asked them to stop and keep their e-mails to the topic at hand (the children) but they continue with the unneccessary, harassing e-mails. Thank You!

The recourse is to discontinue the use of email. Since that wouldn't help much, you might want to consider asking the court to force both of you to communicate via our family law wizard.

You should print out the emails and then consult with an attorney. Courts often issue an order prohibiting this type of conduct.
