Legal Question in Family Law in California

i have a family law hearing date in 4 weeks. i will be out of the country because of a family illness. how do i file to postpone the hearing?

You have to file a motion for a continuance. Contact the family law facilitator at your local Family Court for information on local procedures for filing and getting a hearing on that motion.
