Legal Question in Family Law in California
Family Law, Modification of visitation
I am seeking some advice on how to go about moving out of sacramento co. in California with my daughter. Her father and I share joint and physical custody. I have her a little over 68% and he has her a little les that 32% of the time and alternating holidays. At first the move was for a new job for me and that job could require us to move any where in CA. Her father and I had a verbal agreement that moving would be ok. However, eight months i started a new relationship and considerig to get married in the future. My partner would prefer me to stay at home wit my children. And i like that idea. However, His job jut transfered him to so-california 415 miles away. I am not in a hurry to move but if we intend to be married we will have to combine our home in the near future. Once my duaghter's dad herd i was in a relationship he no longer agreed to me movig. I have come up with all sorts of visitation options. And have even offered him more parenting time. How ever he is not will to meet me in the middle. Can he keep me from moving? I now i have to give him a 45 day writtn notice before i move but is that for any where in C.A. or is it only for Our county? Any tips on preparing our modification packet would help. thanx

Re: Family Law, Modification of visitation
That would depend upon the terms of the order. However, it would seem logical that it would apply to a move any where in California. You should consult with an attorney to reduce future problems.
