Legal Question in Family Law in California

Family Law

I was named as the Father of a chlid. However as I was not married or living with this woman, I requested a blood test and it was not a match. Can the women still name me as the father and can this be contested from out of state. She is in Montana and I am in California.

Re: Family Law

If this matter is not being heard by a California court, then you need to get advice from an attorney in Montana.

In California, the mother would have to establish paternity before she can get support. If you are ever served with a petition regarding that child make sure you go to court. Otherwise she will win by default.
