Legal Question in Family Law in California

family law

I was served custody papers. 2 days later we agreed to 50/50 joint custody. The papers were done we signed with notary present. We canceled mediation and have been waiting for final papers. My question is I just received a paper in the mail from the court the says ''Request to enter defaulft''

I was told since we agreed I did not need to respond. Did I just listen to another lie or is this part of precedure of filing process?

Re: family law

Yes, that's part of the procedure. If you are proceeding "by default", then the other party, who filed the Petition, is required to file a Request for Entry of Default. However, the settlement agreement that you signed should be attached to the final judgment.
