Legal Question in Family Law in California

family law

my sister ran away at the age if 16. my mom reported her as a run away and nothing was done. my sister is 17 an she has a baby now, she still refuses to return home and the person she is living with signed gaurdinship papers that my mom never signed. so how does this 19 year old have gaurdianship? and why does my mom have to pay child support?

I'll play the guessing game. Assuming everything you said is correct, it appears that your mother didn't oppose the guardianship and she didn't go to court to change the support order.

I believe there must be some facts and/or some information is missing.

However, there is one thing to remember guardianship is not adoption. However until I know more I can not give you an answer to your question.

I would agree with Mr. Lemmons if your facts are accurate. It appears your mother didn�t oppose the guardianship. You probably should have your mother consult an Attorney if she is confused about the outcome.
