Legal Question in Family Law in California

Family Law Trial-Pro Per Resp/Mother

Can Petitioner's Counsel call new witnesses after they concluded their part of the trial two months ago? We are scheduled in December for a full day, in which it's my turn call my witnesses and present my case. She has contacted my children's therapist re: fees to testify and her position. We have been delayed due to motions and Judge availability. I filed a motion requesting counsel be appointed by the court for our minor children. This was denied without prejudice, and the Judge made it clear he may do so at any point in the trial. There is a full year history with Childrens' Services in which Father was unable to comply with case plan or remain sober. Juvenile Court dismissed with children in my custody, then Mediation Recommendation was adopted and ordered, further reducing father's visitation and placing sole legal with me as well. This is what father has contested. Children report father and stepmother still drink during visits, I can't subtantiate this. His counsel minimizes drinking history and is focused on Father's Rights per 14th Ammendment. Father only filed for modification when child support became issue by the state. Any input would be appreciated.

Yes, he can still call witnesses. You have some very important issues, you should have an attorney or you will be greatly disadvantaged. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
