Legal Question in Family Law in California

family member eviction

Can I have an 18 year old family member evicted from my home? What is the process? The 18 year old is still in high school.

Yes you can. The procedure is no different than any other eviction.

Re: family member eviction

You would bring a "forcible detainer" action to evict the teen. However, CA law requires you to support your children until 18 unless they are still FULLTIME high school students [living at home] or age 19, whichever occurs first. So you might be able to evict but then have to pay for the kid to live elsewhere.
