Family Practice Attorney not fulfilling obligations.

My son is engaged in a child custody battle. His attorney has called in sick for two court appearances. My son was sanctioned for this. His attorney is not returning his phone calls. Is there anything he can do? She has been paid a retainer. Thank you

The attorney is is dishonest and unethical

If your son�s attorney made him pay for sanctions that were due to the attorney not showing up in court you are dealing with an attorney who is dishonest and unethical. Your son had better change attorneys immediately and go to small claims court to get his retainer back.
