Legal Question in Family Law in California

The right to say farwell, before death

June 4, 2003, residing in CA, my father passed away. During the last four months of my father's life, I resided in TX and my sister resided in CA. Because of family issues, my brother didn't speak to us. I had Power of Attorney over both parents yet to save peace, we took care of my mother, decisions on my father were made by my brother. While in TX I tried to get answers on my father's health through the doctor but was refused being that my brother had signed on as the spokes person for our family. When my father's ill declined, we were never told. When my father passed away, we were never told. When burial arrangements were made, we were never told or included. We feel they took away our privielage of seeing my father alive before his passing. What rights do we have as far as bringing a lawsuit against my brother. The only reason why I would do this is because he is now trying to take our parents house away from us (another story).

Thank you for your time.

Brother, I sympathize with your situation more than you know. As you might have guessed, there are some wrongs that are beyond the power of the court system to remedy. While you might want to consult a probate attorney about your property issues, in all probability there is nothing you can do about your brother's despicable conduct except to pray that there is an afterlife and divine judtice.
