Legal Question in Family Law in California

Father convicted of Child Abuse...should I collect?

The father of my child, now 12, physically abused her at the age of 18 months. He was convicted as a ''boyfriend''. He is not on the birth certificate (my choice) as I did not want him to have any rights. I am considering collecting support. What visitation could he get if any? At her age, could she choose not to see him?

it is hard to say with the few facts given. One thing I will say is that the judge would likely order supervised visitations. Right or wrong, the state will attempt to reunite parent and child.
