Legal Question in Family Law in California

How can a father get equal custody?

When my son was a baby, I had to accept that the court would place him with his mom for the "young and tender years." I have always had one night and alternate weekends and have never missed a minute. Now he is 7 and I am remarried. Are the y & t years over yet? Is this a good time to ask the court for a custody change? I don't expect primary custody, just equal time. Without disparaging mom, what other things might be in my favor? Thank you.

Yes you can ask the court to modify child visitation so that you have a more equal time period with your child. Age is not that important. The issue is what is in the best interest of your child. See my web site at www.sbdivorcelawyer.com for more information.
