Legal Question in Family Law in California

The father intiated modification of child custody, we have gone through another mediation appointment and they found that the orders stay the same. I support my child 100% of the time, he does not help with medical or pay child support as well as never participated in orders and his life....We went to court and his attorney ask for a custody trial - so here we stand with no actions taken since then. Well the father call and wants to work thing out between ourselves, How can we do this and still protect myself. He lied in his paperwork, so I want to make sure he can not back peddle again. Can we file paperwork to the court in dismissing the case and submitting new paperwork showing what we agreed on? Thanks for helping

Yes, if you reach an agreement on contested issues, you can always submit a stipulated order that makes the agreement the court's decision, and take the proceedings off calendar.
