Legal Question in Family Law in California

Father is a pathological liar....

My sister-in-law recently uncovered a massive amount of lies her husband told her i.e. canceling her car insurance creating a forged insurance cards; stated he was taking care of her vehicle and didnt; he intentionally sold their beautiful home, knew they wouldn't qualify for a new home and created forged documents making her believe they we going to move in (he was a loan officer handling all the paperwork, thus being able to hide the truth); didnt pay bills - car loan, daycare, gas/electric, cable, and now her credit is ruined; he listed bogus deposits in the check register; wrote numerous NSF checks; stated he was employed, however all his past employers stated he was fired; he has maxed-out numerous credit cards; potentially surfing hard-core pornography; plays mind games with her; lied in the ex parte mediation so now he has temporary custody of their child; the list goes on and on, not to mention all the lies he has told me and other people. What laws are out there to protect a woman/child from a man who is obviously out to emotionally, financially and spiritually destroy them, not to mention ruin the mother/daughter bond.

Re: Father is a pathological liar....

NONE She will have to cut the ties between herself and the dishonest husband. She should immediately file a petition for either a legal separation or a dissolution of marriage. She should also cancel all credit accounts that he has access to. This will allow her to start rebuilding her life. After separation her income will be her separate property and he will be responsible for his own debts.
